The Heart-Mending Wordsmith

Create. Heal. Inspire.

If You've Lost a Loved One,

and You're Feeling A Call to Write,

You're in the Right Place.

The Heart-Mending Wordsmith is an 8-Week Signature Process into the Heart of Loss...

to Help YouWrite A Sparkling Narrative

About A Loved One You've Lost

...with plenty of love, support, and encouragement along the way...

In 2012 I took a summer writing course for educators that changed my life.

Our final project was to share a narrative we'd written on a topic of our choice. I felt a pull to write mine about my dad, who I'd lost to cancer a few years before.

The creative process provided me refuge. Emotions erupting like lava from a volcano combined with the action of writing turned out to have serious healing power.

On the last day of class, as I read my narrative aloud, I saw the way my words stirred emotion in each of my classmates, several of them with tears filling and falling from their eyes.

I felt empowered to have created something that could authentically express a sliver of my experience. And in the end, I realized that it didn’t matter if anyone ever read what I’d written not, that going through the writing process had been just for me.

This inspired me to put together some reflections and activities from my writing practice to share with you...

Now combined with some of my tools as a life coach and experience as an educator, they make up the very lessons of this course.

All of the writing experiences fit together to help you create a narrative about your loved one. And you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences and get support with other kind, open-hearted women like you along the way.

Whether you just want something uplifting to read once a week, want to jot down a few of your thoughts, or want to dive all the way in and create a masterpiece, I’d love to walk with you, encourage you with compassion, and guide you in a series of writing experiences that will help bring creativity, healing, and inspiration to your journey.

I’d love to have you along for the adventure!

Much love and many blessings to you,

This course is for you if:

*You have a little distance from the immediacy of your loss and/or are ready to explore some of your favorite moments with your loved one through writing

*You are open to writing as a form of healing, and are curious how it can help you feel better.

*You’d like to feel more confident, alive, connected, and free.

*You are introspective and appreciate making meaning from your experiences.

*You are sensitive, and a kind, open-hearted person who shows respect both to yourself and to others.

*You are a deep feeling person who wants to use your pain to create something beautiful.

*You are open to and interested in exploring what this loss means for you and for your life.

In the course, you’ll:

*Create a narrative about a special moment with your loved one that creates space to help heal your heart, clear your mind, and bring your most radiant self to life -- with more confidence and freedom because of your loss.

*Be guided through a series of writing exercises to:

  • Express your emotions, and put your thoughts into words
  • Practice self-care
  • Gain insight from your emotions
  • Dive deep into the meaning of your relationship, to yourself, to your loved one, to life.
  • Transform your pain into pure power and grace.

*Connect with other women who have been through something similar. Women who are wise enough to know that they don't know EXACTLY how you feel, but who can offer endless compassion, love, empathy, and support.

*Have access to a private Discussion Forum for extra connection and support to ask as many questions as you'd like, and share your process at whatever level feels comfortable, and best, for you.

Why take this course?

Because your healing is important. Your stories matter.

And as you heal and inspire yourself through your creativity, you help to heal and inspire the world with your creative spirit and innate gifts.

You create added freedom that can ripple out into the lives of all that you touch through your healing, your art, and the power of love within your heart.

And allowing your pain to become transformed into freedom + insight through writing is one of the most powerful ways I know to do that.

So I hope you join us!

"Thank you so much for the class today, it was fun and surprising and different.

I wanted to share my synthesis with you, and you are very welcome to use it for future classes, even though it turned out to be more than one paragraph:

. . .

Wherever she goes, she brings her mirror. By looking into it, she can see her true self. She loves holding it in front of other people, too, so that they may see who they truly are and where they may find their excitement. Mirrors, are her secret, in fact. She can spark excitement in anyone, who dares to find her. She can be found by looking into any mirror and saying the words: „Hey darling, what do you want to be today?“

- Sylke L., Montana

"Thank you for Funky Emotion Paragraphs!

I walked through the questions again with a feeling of gladness that I had from an earlier coaching session. Her name was Lovely Loving Louise, and boy, did she have a lot to teach me! She showed me that Woeful Woebegone Wendy needs so much gentleness. Love brings that and it’s always available for the asking.

On another level, my sadness was in part about writing and my identity as a writer. Finding a new tool that used writing to move me past sadness also helped me reframe my relationship to the written word. Whole ‘nother dimension of healing!"
